Swaffham’s historic Assembly Rooms have been restored to their “former glory” after a major project costing hundreds of thousands of pounds.

The Grade II listed Assembly Rooms have been at the heart of Swaffham’s life since they were built in 1776. The Georgian building, situated on Market Place, hosts events, a weekly market, weddings, and functions.

A £200,000 repair and restoration project was carried out with funding from the High Street Heritage Action Zone, which provided £82,000, Swaffham Town Council, and The Iceni Partnership – a registered charity that manages Swaffham Community Centre and the Assembly Rooms.
