Swaffham Community Fridge Helping Reduce Waste and Support Local Residents
A fantastic community initiative is helping to reduce food waste while supporting local people in Swaffham.
The Swaffham Community Fridge, based at the Swaffham Community Centre on The Campingland, provides free surplus food to anyone who can make use of it. The project works with local shops and businesses to save perfectly good food from going to waste and instead share it with the community. Open to everyone, the Community Fridge offers a wide range of items including fresh fruit and vegetables, chilled products, bakery items and cupboard essentials. The initiative not only helps households access additional food, but also plays an important role in tackling unnecessary food waste and supporting environmental sustainability.
The project has quickly become a valued resource within the town, encouraging people to come together, reduce waste and support one another during challenging times.
