There are five recreation & play areas in Swaffham:

Haspalls Road – (the Rec) – Skate Park, MUGA, adult fitness equipment, under 12’s play area, adult play area including an inclusive swing and under 8’s play area (currently closed due to vandalism).

Merryweather – children’s play area including accessible roundabout with an adult shelter.

Oaklands – play area for under 12’s and two football goals. Picnic area available.

Orford Road – play area for under 8’s, under 15’s and one set of football goal posts. Picnic area available.

Swan’s Nest – play area for under 5’s, under 12’s including an inclusive swing. Picnic area available.

In addition there is also the Church St Peter & St Paul and the Baptist closed churchyard.

There are new play areas in plan relating to the new housing developments being built in the town.

The Grounds Maintenance team maintain the recreational play areas and churchyards and undertake the following work on a regular basis:

  • Grass cutting & strimming
  • Tree & shrub maintenance
  • Hedge cutting
  • Litter Picking
  • General maintenance including vandalism repairs
  • Play equipment – maintenance, health & safety checks, annual review and repairs
