PRESS RELEASE

For Immediate Release
25 September 2024
Swaffham Town Council

Breckland District Council, as the local planning authority, asked Swaffham Town Council to consult on two planning applications regarding the arrival of Greggs in the Town. The applications were for:

3PL/2024/0631/F – Siting of two air conditioning condenser units and extract grilles, and use of the pavement for outdoor seating area.

3PL/2024/0632/A – One externally illuminated fascia sign and one externally illuminated “heritage style” projecting sign.

The Town Council’s role in this process is to review and provide comments specifically on these two applications.

It is important to note that Breckland District Council is the planning authority responsible for making decisions on planning applications, while Swaffham Town Council acts only as a consultee. Therefore, Swaffham Town Council is consulted on planning applications only and not tenancies within the town.

We appreciate the community’s continued engagement and will keep residents informed of any future developments.
