The Swaffham – A Historic Market Town Project
The Swaffham – A Historic Market Town project is launching this week a new Small Shopfront Repair and Redecoration Scheme in association with Breckland District Council, Historic England, Swaffham Town Council and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
This scheme is for minor repairs, redecoration, and traditional signage. It also runs alongside the larger grant scheme for large scale repairs and shopfront reinstatement which is already open and supporting projects at the Methodist Church and Plowright Place.
The deadline for applications to the Repair and Redecoration Scheme is the 6th December and applications will need to detail the works and provide 3 quotes for the works. The grant rate is 75% and there is a limited grant pot available and a £5000 cap on individual grants.
The application form for the Shopfront repair and redecoration scheme can be found here: Application form

The overall aim of the project is to recreate a traditional appearance in Swaffham, driving footfall and business success. The grants are part of an overall regeneration scheme with cultural events, heritage training and physical improvements to the Market Place.
