Breckland Council is holding an event next week to provide local residents with an opportunity to ask the council’s Leader questions about what matters most to them.
This event is open to all local residents who encouraged to attend.
The online ‘Virtual Town Hall’ event will see Cllr Sam Chapman-Allen, Leader of Breckland Council, take questions from Ian Clarke, the EDP’s Executive Editor.
Members of the public can submit suggested questions in advance by emailing Ian (details below) or they can submit questions during the meeting itself. The council will not be involved in selecting which questions are asked – this will be led by the EDP’s independent journalists.
Cllr Sam Chapman-Allen, Leader of Breckland Council, commented: “In the past, I have met with residents and business owners in local town halls, on our high streets and at local events and they have always proven to be invaluable.
“These discussions provide an opportunity for people to ask me about key issues impacting their towns and villages, their lives and their livelihoods, and I get to talk to them about what we’re doing as a council to make Breckland a thriving place to live and work.
This virtual town hall event will take that same concept online, so as many people as possible can take part from the comfort of their own homes. I hope as many people as possible up and down the district take up this opportunity to attend and get involved by submitting questions on anything they want to hear more about.”
How to take part:
The virtual town hall event will be held from 6pm on Tuesday, 4 March.
It will take place online via a Microsoft Teams teleconference meeting. People can join the meeting via their computer or smartphone (but are advised to consider downloading and testing the app in advance of the meeting).
People can sign up to attend the online meeting by completing the registration form at www.breckland.gov.uk/virtual-town-hall. A link to the meeting will be emailed to those who have registered ahead of the meeting.
Members of the public wishing to suggest a question can do so by emailing [email protected] in advance of the meeting, or they can submit questions during the meeting itself.
