Young people in Swaffham will soon have the chance to take part in a free and exciting work experience project designed to help them learn new skills, build confidence, and take steps towards future careers.
The Town Pound Project, running from 23rd September to 17th October 2025, invites 16–24 year old’s to get hands-on experience in the construction and trade sector. The project is being delivered by Volunteer It Yourself (VIY), supported by Breckland Council, the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and other partners.
Participants will:
Learn hands-on trade skills from professional mentors
Earn City & Guilds accreditations
Gain support with CSCS cards and careers guidance
Benefit from free lunch and travel support where required
Placements are flexible, with a minimum of three days needed to achieve accreditation.
The project takes place at Town Pound, Mangate Street, Swaffham, PE37 7QN.
