Important roadworks information
I am writing to tell you that we plan to carry out resurfacing work on the A47 from Scarning to Wendling. Once complete, drivers will benefit from the A47 remaining in a safe and serviceable condition.
We plan to complete this work over five nights starting Monday 2 March 2026. We will work between 8pm and 6am, weather permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, we will need to place a soft closure from Norwich Road Roundabout and a full closure of the A47 from Scarning to Wendling. The traffic will be diverted as follows:
- Exit the A47 at Swaffham and head southbound on the A1065 towards Munford and then onto A134.
- At the Munford Road Roundabout take the first exit onto the A11.
- At the Thickthorn Interchange take the second exit onto A47 where the diversion ends.
