Holmwood House Care Home Open Day

Residents, families and local community members are warmly invited to attend a special Care Home Open Day at Holmwood House in Swaffham on Friday 19 June 2026.

Part of a nationwide initiative led by Championing Social Care, the event offers an opportunity for people to see first-hand what life is really like in a care home. Visitors will be able to tour the home, meet the team and learn more about the care and support provided.

This year’s open day theme celebrates the World Cup 2026, with a programme of fun, football-inspired activities alongside opportunities to relax and socialise.

A full schedule of activities is planned throughout the day, including:

  • Arts and crafts session (10:00–11:00)
  • Tea, cakes and refreshments (11:00–11:30)
  • 5-a-side football activities with staff and friends (11:30–13:00)
  • Social time and refreshments (13:00–14:00)
  • Live music performance by Emily Blake (14:00–15:30)
  • Closing refreshments and informal social time (15:30–16:00)

Guests can also enjoy live music, singalongs, themed games, and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, with families and friends encouraged to attend.

The open day is a chance to celebrate the important role care homes play in the community while giving people the opportunity to ask questions and see care in action.

The event will take place at Holmwood House, 40 White Cross Road, Swaffham, PE37 7QY. For more information, call 01760 724404.

All are welcome, and the team looks forward to opening their doors to the community.
