Thank you for considering becoming a trader at Swaffham Saturday Market.

With a long and proud history, Swaffham Saturday Market is a popular destination for both traders and customers, offering a vibrant and friendly shopping experience in the heart of the town.

We welcome enquiries from new traders and carefully consider applications to ensure we maintain a good balance of products and services for our customers. To protect the variety and success of the market, we currently limit the number of traders offering similar products to two traders per category.

Trading Requirements

All traders must hold valid Public Liability Insurance before trading on the market.

At present, available space is limited, with the majority of pitches occupied by permanent licensed traders. Please note that there are currently no pitches available with electrical power.

All new casual traders are required to complete an initial four-week trading period. This allows traders the opportunity to become familiar with the market, understand customer patterns and gain exposure before making longer-term arrangements.

Pitch Information & Prices

3m x 3m pitch: £18.00 per Saturday (£72.00 for the initial four-week period)
3m x 3m gazebo hire: £9.00 per Saturday
(Traders hiring a gazebo must be able to safely erect and dismantle it themselves)
Tables: Available upon request, subject to availability
Please note that from 1 April 2026, Swaffham Town Council will no longer accept cash payments on Saturdays.

Market Trading Times

Traders are expected to arrive and be set up by 7:30am and remain trading until 2pm.

Departure is permitted from 2:30pm onwards.

During the summer season (1 April to 30 September), the market trading period is extended by an additional 30 minutes.

Market Location

The market committee has agreed to extend the market area to make use of the space around the Butter Cross, helping to create an even more welcoming and enjoyable experience for traders and visitors. Please note that vehicle parking is not permitted within this area.

Indoor Market

Swaffham also hosts an indoor market every Friday and Saturday in the Assembly Rooms, located next to the Marketplace. This market is operated by the Iceni Partnership and locally managed by Haydn Eagle on 07957 862239.
