PMC173 London Street, Swaffham – Carriageway Resurfacing
Norfolk County Council will be carrying out essential carriageway resurfacing works on the A1065 London Street, U33353 Globe Hill and U30022 Theatre Street starting on Monday 28 September 2026 with a duration of four working nights, weather permitting.
To allow the work to be carried out safely, the A1065 London Street, U33353 Globe Hill and U30022 Theatre Street will be temporarily closed overnight between 7:00pm and 6:00am throughout the works period. These closures are required due to the nature of the resurfacing operations and to protect both road users and site staff.
Access to properties within the closure will be maintained at all times, although there may be occasional unavoidable delays due to the work being undertaken. Site staff will be on hand to manage access and escort emergency vehicles through the works where required. A signed diversion route will be in place, and advance warning signs will be erected at least one week before works commence.
The one-way order on U30022 Theatre Street will be revoked during the overnight closures (7:00PM – 6:00AM) to allow for traffic management to direct vehicles around the closure.
The County Council thanks people for their patience while this surface improvement work is carried out.
The work which will cost £151,900 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Infrastructure Department and their contractors.
